On the scroll it is written in Greek: “ΜΕΤΑΝΟΕΙΤΕ ΗΓΓΙΚΕ ΓΑΡ Η ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΑ ΤΩΝ ΟΥΡΑΝΩΝ,” which means “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
