Icon, made of wood, depicts Saint Joseph
Saint Joseph is depicted with a halo around his head, a symbol of his holiness. He wears a blue tunic with gold details and holds two white doves, symbolizing peace and purity.
Beside him, on his left arm, is Baby Jesus with a halo. The child also wears a brown tunic with gold details.
Above their heads are inscriptions in Greek: above St. Joseph it is written “O AGIOS” (which means “The Saint”) and above the child it says “ΙΩΣΗΦ” (meaning “Joseph”). At the bottom right of the icon there is another inscription “ΙC ΧC” which is an abbreviation for “Jesus Christ”.
The icon has a golden background, typical of religious icons, which represents divine light.
